What
should I wear?
This is not a funk costume party. However, it is a nice venue and
a fundraising event, so club/cocktail attire is encouraged. Be sure
to bring your dancing shoes.
Will tickets be available at the door?
A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $25.
How
do I purchase tickets?
Tickets may be purchased online only
by visiting our purchase page. As part
of our Master of the Funk competition,
you will first need to click on the candidate you think is the funkiest,
then you will be taken to our purchase/donate page. It's okay if
you don't personally know any of the candidates, just choose any
you'd like as the money still goes to the same place. We use Google
Checkout to handle our transactions. If you are having difficulty
purchasing, feel free to email Curt.
If I purchased tickets online, do I need physical tickets?
No, just be sure to bring your ID to the event and your name will
be on the guest list. Just in case, you may want to bring along
proof of purchase.
What are the event hours?
Doors will open at 8pm and the event will end at 2am. Remember,
$3 drink specials and appetizers will only be available from 8pm-9pm
so get there early.
What does happy hour consist of?
Happy hour will go from 8-9pm and will feature $3 drink specials
from Energy Squared, Vegetarian Noodle Boxes from Asia SF and min-cookies
from Hot Cookie.
What
is Master of the Funk?
Master of the Funk is a competition among
our hosts as to who can bring in the most money from ticket sales
and donations. The Master of the Funk will be crowned on the night
of the event.
How
do I be Master of the Funk?
Unfortunately, all Master of the Funk candidates have already been
chosen. The winner will be announced on the night of the event.
If you think you have what it takes to be Master of the Funk in
2009, feel free to email Curt.
What
type of music will be playing?
The band, Stymie and the Pimp Jones Luv Orchestra (www.stymieluv.com)
brings you the best original, live funk sound in San Francisco.
In addition to Stymie, DJ Jeanine Da Feen will be spinning some
rump-shakin' tunes. Be prepared to get your groove on.
How does the silent auction work?
It's easy, the silent auction will run during the early hours of
the event and will feature some great items you will love. Simply
place your bid, name, phone and email next to the item and upon
closing if you are the highest bidder, you win. We will take credit
card payment on the night of the event, so you can take home your
prize right away. If you have to leave early, we'll contact after
the event is over to schedule payment and pickup. Remember, this
is all for a good cause so bid away. To view an ever-growing list
of items, be sure to visit our auction/raffle
page.
Where does the money from the event go?
100% of proceeds from the event go to support the work of Real Options
for City Kids, or R.O.C.K. for short. Be sure to visit www.rocksf.org
for more information.
